someone wants to be mac.
to be fair, longhorn looks quite amazing, but to be unfair, the interface looks and plays like OSX.
the huge rip off is the metal stainless toolbar look. a very cheap ripoff of the mac.
microsoft has still kept their very professional layout scheme, but one can't help be intimidated.
alotta use of gradients, and metal greys.
sure it looks functional, but we expected XP to be functional, and i'm sure longhorn will need its fair share of updating.
the display user intface looks tight, so heres hoping the new windows installment won't cost too much...

Come on, Windows has had 'metal' buttons since version 3.0 and 'metal' windows since 95. Macs at the time had rounded rectangles for buttons.
Apple didn't invent 'pretty'.

i beg to differ.
windows 3.0 buttons were grey with a 1 pixel inner bevel. you can hardly claim an 8 bit button as metal. im talking about the interface. the use of the streamline stainless steal look, associated with OSX.
apple didn't invent pretty, but it did invent its own paradigm of prettyness(aesthetic quality) in computer design (interior and exterior)
