being a designer...
i cant quite grasp the concept, it helps your rists, but come on. no one in their right mind would take that retarded looking thing out in public.
you would be public enemy no. 1 at any LAN.

followup
sorry to not leave this but one more note on the topic.
a somewhat formal responce from Steven Johnson to senitor Clinton.
a good read, but some points are struggling to be justified.

grandma is killing one of the best PS2 games of all time.
maybe she needs a bit of unlocking of her hidden in-game sex scenes.
but honestly, she bought a 17+ game for her 14 year old grandson. why not take him to a bar and get him drunk. or buy him smokes. rent him a stripper for god sakes.
this is the age of the internet. its more likely a 14 year old will stumble on a porn site on the net and get his first bonner than stumble on a mod to unlock sex scenes in their favourate game.
wtf is a grandparent doing buying him this game. with all due respect to peer pressure, i would never give my 14 year old son this game. no matter what! maybe 16 year old, but thats limit. i would get off my lazyboy and RESEARCH games for my children. at least be knowledgable enough to buy them a gamecube, mario smash tennis/party5, and let him and his friends go wild.
what parents dont understand is todays market is aimed at casual gamers. the children market is suffering, and we need more games FOR CHILDREN, that dont have this shitty mediocre gameplay that we all loath.
on the upside, unlocking the sex scenes will give your 14 year old grandson a new found understanding of neeg foreplay. how is that not a present that will benifit him for the rest of his life... *just kidding*

WTFWTFWTF!!!
reading this makes me want to pirate music and movies more and more and more not to watch and listen, but to spite these over-enforcing authorities.
there must be a better way, its just getting illogical now.

yes, we all get shitty about people's uproar over violence in Vgames.

someone wants to be mac.
to be fair, longhorn looks quite amazing, but to be unfair, the interface looks and plays like OSX.
the huge rip off is the metal stainless toolbar look. a very cheap ripoff of the mac.
microsoft has still kept their very professional layout scheme, but one can't help be intimidated.
alotta use of gradients, and metal greys.
sure it looks functional, but we expected XP to be functional, and i'm sure longhorn will need its fair share of updating.
the display user intface looks tight, so heres hoping the new windows installment won't cost too much...

let us discuss
this is a very interesting article on nostalgia that i recommend everyone to read.
i ask a question... "what is your nostalgic peak??" (ie. when in your life did u enjoy culture's best?)
Personally, i think it was when i was 12-14. obviously the end of the Snes, and the beginning of a beautiful thing called multiplay (via the release of the N64)
this age brought on 3 things.
cheaper snes rental.
4 player bliss.
friends coming together for a common goal: fun.
whether it be playing stealth tiggy at night in an abandoned Burleigh State School, brandy around jev's house and lake, or just glued to the bottom right glow of the TV yelling, "bullshit!!! Borris is a bullshit character!!! he's too fast!!! hey, no one can be odd job, hes a BS character too!!", life was simple, cheap, and fun. we spent full days on the street sk8ing, on the lake, swimming, jumping off bridges near the church, having fun, getting mum to run you practically anywhere, cause she supported youthful activities and had trust in our innocense.
i think this was my cultural peak, cause culture didnt matter. all that mattered was who got the star, or golden gun, or tennis ace. it was a time of nintendo and PS. one was for multiplay, one was for single. we werent into clothes, alcohol, women or drugs.
obviously, in 10 more years i could come back and say the present now could have been. but culture is bland. people follow the alt or the hip. music is trying to sound new but isn't. pop culture saddens me, and whats sadder is im totally apart of it. in a small vent, i cringe from what i have become to onlookers, yet i dont care. this is a justification of who am i and why i dont want to be apart of this alternative culture madness.
anyway, i expect people to comment on their nostalgic peaks and on what we think contemporary culture is doing!!!
thank you for your time.

a charming read
you would think of it as a half assed tragedy, but really, how many deaths make a terrorist event painful?
anway, you could call this black humour(loosely), but it seems london isn't really phased by a few bombs.
good read anyway.

how did we live without
i'm so sorry to everyone in my live. i have never ever been complete without this..
the mario bros. encyclopedia
this is easily one of the most comprehensive sites on the mario games i have ever been witness to, and the nostalgic value is worth it's digital weigh in gold.
how could i have ever said i had lived before....this!!!

the paradoxes of society
i love art, especially original art. this article is old, but the idea is being implimented into advertising now, and one must ask itself... can this repositioning of art make cleaning your room fun and creative?
short answer: no.
i'd like to take it upon myself to sample this technique. any comments?
we have a n00b poster called chard.
he hasn't posted anything yet so.....
